Taijuan Walker Pitches Second Mets No-Hitter

Taijuan Walker was untouchable today at Citi Field, displaying a good fastball and wicked breaking balls in his 7-0 win against the Chicago Cubs. The New York hurler did not allow a single hit, fanning 7 while walking 2.

“This is great,” Walker told reporters after the game. “Every pitcher wants a no-hitter. I just wanted the win, but the no-hitter is a little extra icing on the victory cake.”

Walker has started 14 times this year, pitched 72.1 innings, fanned 66 batters and walked 24. His current record is 6 wins and 4 losses with a 3.86 ERA.
